Satra wrote, “man is nothing but what he makes of himself.” In a world where life is empty, Satra tries to fill the void. There are plenty of ways to fill the void. Capitalist societies push materialism for the sake of economy. But this hides the emptiness it does not fill the void. Satra explains that in-order to fill the void a person has to improve him/her-self internally. Man does this through making choices.
Choices are the way that people take control or loose control of their life. If you refuse to take control of your own life and make choices for your life you are doomed. The man in Before The Law did not take control and didn’t realize he wasn’t living his life until the moment of his death. When you refuse to live your life you leave yourself open to fall under the control of others. It was for this reason that people were led into following Hitler and Mussolini. The alternative to this is not that hard to do and is something everyone SHOULD do. When you make choices for yourself you build your character. This intern gives you a sense of worth and purpose. The more choices you make for yourself, the greater your acknowledgement of self will be and the happier you’ll become. Self security, and Confidence are psychological traits that money can’t buy. It is very important that people live their own life. They must do what makes them happy. They must choose their actions for themselves and for themselves only. Anything else will diminish their character and put them outside the door to their own life. -------------------- I fall through the cracks of imposibility
